Pastor’s Note…..
Church family,
LOVE - It is Valentine's Day Eve Eve, and I want you to know how much I love you in Christ. SO MANY churches have a well deserved reputation for being unloving, cold, distant, closed. Reverse those adjectives. I want us to keep being loving, warm, welcoming, open. It's not rocket science. God operates on the principle of overflow. If we ask with sincere hearts, God will fill us to overflowing with His love. It spills over. That's church.
COMMUNITY MINISTRY TEAMS PROGRESS REPORT - Our church family unanimously affirmed this initiative in the last business meeting. The nominating committee and I are seeking a coordinator for the ministry. Once we have that person we will schedule a weekend to officially launch. Our web site now contains information. Click on the missions tab.
YOUTH GROUP - Amanda and I would like to meet with youth and youth parents on Sunday, February 19, 6:00 p.m. We want to talk about scheduling some socials, the summer trip, and the minister to students search.
MINISTER TO STUDENTS SEARCH - The personnel committee is very grateful for your continued prayer support as we seek a new minister to students for our youth group. If you are not already, would you please make this a matter of daily prayer?
In love and in faith,
Rick
We use an e-mail group to relay pertinent information, prayer requests and praises. To join, send an e-mail to Rick at his new email address: rickjordan@susquehannabaptist.org

The trustees would like to include you in some of the current projects on our church campus. You can help in one of two ways. First - on March 10 we have scheduled an all-church work day and welcome your participation. Second - if you or your group can help with one of the projects listed on our church bulletin boards, or if you have ideas about where we might secure materials to use on one of these projects, please contact John Hodgson (jwjs@sbcglobal.net / 816-796-6766) or Wilbur Park (816-796-4272).

Pieces of Eight
Pieces of Eight is an exciting way to meet with others from church once a month for 4 months in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Once you sign up you will be randomly placed with others and the group will be set. The host is in charge of setting up the evening which includes planning dinner and contacting the other members. Whoever is hosting for that month, cooks the meal and hosts in their home. However, in you are unable to do so you might plan a potluck picnic or pick a place to eat out. The host will rotate monthly. If you are interested, please sign up at the table outside the sanctuary by Sunday February 26th. Groups will begin meeting in March. If you have any questions, call Amber Schloman at 529-9888.
